Ed Jones, P.E.
Senior Financial Analyst and Trainer

Ed is a professional engineer (Virginia), experienced financial manager, and part-time technical and management instructor with over 35 years of experience in the water and wastewater industry.  Ed’s experience includes 16 years of design, treatment plant start-up, operations, and maintenance; statistical analyses of water and wastewater flows; over 20 years of financial experience related to rate-setting and financial and budgetary planning; and more than 25 years of part-time, operator training and adult education experience as a trainer and Senior Financial Analyst for the Maryland Center for Environmental Training.

As the MCET financial analyst, Ed prepares five-year and long range (25 year) financial forecasts, projects wastewater flows and identification of system capacity needs, develops sewer and water rate studies and annual rate adjustments for approval by elected officials.  Ed is a member of the Water Environmental Federation, the American Water Works Association, and the Government Finance Officers Association.
