MCET's Director, Karen Brandt, Provides Input to EPA Report

Karen L. Brandt, director of the Maryland Center for Environmental
Training (MCET) of CSM, recently provided environmental compliance assistance as a representative appointed to the Compliance Assistance Advisory Council (CAAC) to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Karen was a
representative of the area of environmental compliance assistance outreach provided by non-profits and educational facilities.

Established under the National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology (NACEPT) in 2000, CAAC provided recommendations to the EPA on compliance assistance and its use and benefit in protecting the environment. CAAC’s second report, “Recommendations for Enhancing EPA’s Compliance Assistance Program,” was presented to EPA Administrator Mike Leavitt in June 2004.

You can view the report on EPA's web site at http://www.epa.gov/ocem/nacept/nacept_doc_library.htm.

Karen manages all of MCET’s environmental, health and safety workforce training and technical assistance programs. MCET, located at CSM’s La Plata Campus, has been providing comprehensive
training and technical assistance for environmental compliance and occupational safety and health for 20 years. For information about MCET’s programs, contact MCET at 301-934-7500 or e-mail info@mcet.org.
