Rate Studies for Wastewater Treatment Facilities
The Maryland Center for Environmental Training (MCET) performed financial assessments for wastewater utilities of 12 MGD or less in the State of Maryland, including preparation of preliminary five-year Capital Improvement Programs (CIP).
The objective of the financial assessments, or rate studies,
was to evaluate the adequacy of the existing sewer rates, fees, and charges to meet the projected financial needs of the sewer fund. The rate study can be used to establish a fair and equitable system of user fees and charges.
This work was performed under a Memorandum of Understanding with the Maryland Department of the Environment, through funding from the State of Maryland’s Senate Bill 643/House Bill
1051.
