Free Health and Safety Classes
The Maryland Occupational Safety and Health
(MOSH) and MCET are partnering to present a
training outreach
program to address risks to worker health and safety. Training
seminars are presented at no cost to participants and college
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded
The comprehensive half-day and full-day seminars, which are offered at
community colleges throughout the State, provide current information on
regulations and techniques for prevention of work-related illnesses and
injuries.

Maryland's Mining Safety Program
The Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA)
State Grants Program distributes federal grants to 49
States, Puerto Rico and the Navajo Nation.
Through a grant received by the Maryland Department of the
Environment in partnership with MCET, health and safety
training courses and programs designed to reduce mining accidents,
injuries, and illness are now available in Maryland.
Training seminars are presented at no cost to
participants and college Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
are awarded.

Underground or coal mining in Maryland for MSHA's
Part
48 Programs are under construction at this time. MCET is in
contact with Garrett
Community College to bring this important program to Western
Maryland.
