Debora Jones,
RN, COHN-S, MPH
Senior Health and Safety Specialist
Deb has been with MCET since 1998 and is
responsible for taking the lead in all of MCET’s safety and health
programs from design to delivery. She is a certified occupational health
nurse specialist and has a Master's degree in Public Health from John
Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health.
Deb has twenty-five years of experience in
occupational safety and health with a concentration in training and
education including extensive work with healthcare facilities, risk
management, bloodborne pathogens/infectious disease issues in the
workplace, and injury prevention.
Other areas of expertise include training
program design and delivery; workers' compensation loss control and
risk management; safety and health program design, evaluation and
management; workplace injury and illness analysis; development of
injury prevention strategies including the application of ergonomics in
the workplace; industrial hygiene; emergency/disaster preparedness;
occupational safety and health compliance programs and auditing.
Deb is currently delivering training
programs for MCET in partnership with the Department of Labor and Licensing, Mining Safety and
Health Administration (MSHA), a state-wide training outreach to Maryland's
miners and sub-contractors; and in partnership with EPA for
Pollution Prevention in the Aggregates and Ready-Mixed operations. In
addition, Deb provides compliance assistance in other areas such as NPDES,
environmental compliance auditing, and other related topics.
