Ergonomic Training for Maryland Nursing Homes
Program in PowerPoint Format Available by Request
MCET's
work in the safety and health field led to the development and delivery of
training programs for the n ursing
industry. The feedback from several training sessions across Maryland with
the non-acute healthcare sector identified a need for ergonomics training
in the Nursing Home industry. Therefore, MCET applied for an OSHA grant
under the Susan B. Harwood Program. As a recipient of this grant, we
developed a training program related to Ergonomics in the Nursing Industry.
The final
program consists of a PowerPoint presentation and associated training
files. These are now available by request for nursing homes to integrate as
needed into their training programs.
Training topics focus on Training
Workers for Involvement in the Ergonomics Process as follows:
·
Topic 1: Ergonomics: What Is It? And
What’s In It For Me?
·
Topic 2: Musculoskeletal
Disorders: When You Feel It – Report It!
·
Topic 3: Resident Assessment for Safe
