Maryland's Mining Safety Program
Part 48
The Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA)
State Grants Program distributes federal grants to 49
States, Puerto Rico and the Navajo Nation.
Through a grant received by the Maryland Department of the
Environment in partnership with MCET, health and safety
training courses and programs designed to reduce mining accidents,
injuries, and illness are now available in Maryland. Training seminars
will be presented at no cost to
participants and college Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
will be awarded.
Underground or coal mining courses in Maryland for MSHA's Part
48 Programs are under construction at this time. MCET is in
contact with Garrett
Community College to bring this important program to Western
Maryland. Check back for updates.
