Surface Mining Metal/Nonmetal

Developing a Part 46 Training Plan

The Maryland Center for Environmental Training (MCET) with feedback from industry experts has developed and delivered a baseline training outreach for metal and nonmetal mining operations state-wide.  This workshop funded by the Mine Safety and Health Administration was held at MDE.  The following two presentations were used.

Developing a Part 46 Training Plan - MCET
Laurel Sand and Gravel Part 46 - Terry Eichelberger

Each presentation was designed to assist Metal and Nonmetal personnel review and adhere to the Part 46 training requirements.  This was our first step towards building a more comprehensive training program for surface operations.  It was also used as a refresher course for those with plans in place.  Continuing Education Units were provided.
