Since 1982, the Maryland Center for Environmental Training (MCET) has established a reputation for excellence in environmental, safety and health training and compliance assistance through practical applications. Employers and employees who partner with MCET integrate regulatory compliance into their site-specific training and day-to-day activities. Combined with applications of best management practices geared to the actual performance of their duties, the participant’s learning experiences will focus on and relate to their working environment.
MCET celebrates 35 years developing and delivering Maryland's most attended water and wastewater customized courses and programs, and reliably delivering technical assistance for treatment facilities, superintendents, and operators.
Our training is provided throughout Maryland, funded in part by the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE) and student tuition. Check out our list of classes by clicking the Schedule link to see which courses are being held at a location near you. Our technical assistance program, funded by MDE, is available to qualified wastewater treatment plants. Check out to see if your facility qualifies for technical assistance.
Should the host college open at 10am for classes, then MCET will hold their scheduled training. Should the host college open later, or close due to inclement weather, MCET will reschedule the class
See Emergency Closing page for links to the host colleges.
The program was developed by the Maryland Center for Environmental Training of the College of Southern Maryland and funded by the Maryland Department of the Environment through their FY 2016 Performance Partnership Grant – Water Pollution Control Activities with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
